+1mm front steering arms are offered as an option, mainly recommended for high-traction carpet conditions such as black carpet. The +1mm arms have the linkage point moved 1mm outward, closer towards the wheel, meaning that the steering links are longer. The +1mm arms makes the steering a little less sensitive but more precise.

Using those shims you can change the steering lock (see picture from the manual of the X4 2025 in the gallery). The steering lock changes as followed: no Shim: 29° 7.0mm: 28° 7.5mm: 26° 8.0mm: 24° 8.5mm: 22° 9.0mm: 20° The shims have an inner diameter of 3mm and are 2mm thick.

The 8mm steering plate was developed to improve the cornering speed. This steering plate has less steering response and is recommended for large asphalt tracks with long sweepers to improve cornering speed or very technical carpet tracks to eliminate oversteering in the chicanes.
