The Federvieh is a useful measuring device for anyone who wants to measure the hardness of their springs.
Many manufacturers do specify the hardness of their springs - but how can the values of different manufacturers be compared with each other?
In practice, not at all. One uses a value in C, another in N/cm, the next just a meaningless color coding.
To be able to classify your own springs, there is only one thing that helps: measure it yourself!
The measuring device indicates the spring hardness in N/cm.
The measuring range is 0.000-20.00N/cm.
With a clever adjustment system and a little help with calculation, spring hardnesses of up to 100.00 N/cm can be measured.
It is easy to use - but we still recommend calm and carefulness to get usable results.
The power supply is very wide-ranging with 4.8-15V - so it works with both a 12V power supply and a 2S or 3S battery that you may have available anyway.
The measuring device is designed to determine the spring hardness of typical 1:10 springs - both on-road and off-road.
The measurement of 1:8 on-road springs is also possible - the use for 1:8 off-road springs depends on the actual length of the springs.
Due to the design, only the spring hardness of linear springs can be determined.
The measurement of progressive springs is also possible - but requires a little more care and effort when measuring. The resulting values can be used for comparison.
Technical data:
_ 4.8-15V voltage input
_ automatic shutdown after 10min
_ 1cm compression => 0.000-20.00N/cm
_ compression can be set to 0.8/0.5/0.2mm, meaning values up to 100.00N/cm can be calculated
_ 90.4x81.2x142mm in size
_ 285g in weight
_ maximum length of 85mm can be measured
Scope of delivery:
- Measuring device as a kit (simple and easy to understand)
- Connection cable with 4mm plugs
