HRC 4088A - Solder Assistant - Octopus - 4 Arms

Super practical tool from HRC.

We don't know why it's called OCTOPUS with the FOUR arms. Maybe because it's so cool that each arm counts twice?! ;-)

Soldering requires a steady hand. Not everyone has one. It's not a problem - as long as you know what to do
It also naturally gets very hot when soldering. Some people hold the cables very close to the soldering point with their fingers. Some people can smell the BBQ just thinking about it.

This holder is really super practical.
Mounted on a heavy - and non-slip - plate are four flexible arms with crocodile clips. This allows plugs, sockets, cables, etc. to be secured. Four arms are an advantage because you don't have to clamp as often and you can grip larger objects with more than just one clamping point.

In addition to the arms, the holder has space for a sponge included for cleaning the soldering tip. Keep this moist before using it. (don't drown it - just keep it moist!).
An open tin of copper wool also fits on top. You can also wipe the hot soldering tip off in this.
The yellow tin contains flux. You can briefly put the end of a cable that needs to be tinned in there to ensure that the cable takes on the solder better.
It's best to stick both tins together with double-sided adhesive tape - then it's really stable.

If you use solder from a roll, you can stretch it onto the roll holder - this way the solder is always ready to hand.

Conclusion: Super practical. Should have a permanent place in your home workshop.
