XRAY revised this item in 2025 and changed from a normal spring steel variant to a ball head with a nickel coating.

The new material is theoretically less sensitive to wear and therefore develops less play over time. At the same time, it is less frictional and thus ensures that the ball socket rotates more smoothly on the head.

Note:

XRAY made this change without any announcement. It is possible at any time that the ball heads are delivered in a different material - even if the article number remains the same. The component retains the same function despite its shape.
